Wildlife is very important to us and we have planted many thousands of native trees, and hedgerows on the farm to create varied habitats for wild birds, insects and animals. Each year we aim to plant at least 50 native trees and add to our birdbox collection. We are always on hand to provide advice on what to see locally.
We are very lucky at Malkin Tower to have a wide range of habitats and countryside on our doorstep. Above us is upland pasture ideal for seeing Skylarks, Lapwings and other waders. Below us there is a rich mosaic of small fields, hedgerows, wooded lanes and streams. We are also close to several small reservoirs and the Leeds Liverpool Canal perfect for wildfowl, Dippers and Kingfishers.
Local wildlife photographer Tony Robinson has captured much of our local wildlife on film and you can see some of his work in our wildlife gallery.
You can purchase a tree and we will plant it here at Malkin Tower and help us with our conservation work.
